'Sutton' crops quite early, from June, so it's one of the earliest legumes to harvest. Pick them young for the most tender beans or let them grow a little longer for larger beans. The pods can be cooked whole if you wish, just cut off the ends and they're ready for the pot! Easy to grow, plant about 30cm (1ft) apart, and the same distance between rows, it has a spreading habit and doesn't require a support to climb up, but you may want to mulch underneath the plants for keep the pods off the soil.
