Incredible value, our patio half-standard rose collection will give you beautifully fragrant, premium quality, elegant blooms to enjoy all summer long. This Patio Rose collection is superb value for money, and will produce summer-long displays of beautifully fragrant blooms for years to come. Also known as Tree Roses, they are the perfect way to add height and elegance to your patio - where a single bush will make a dramatic fragrant feature - or as a pair of potted specimens to dress a door or gateway. By 'top grafting' the flowering variety onto the straight stem of the rootstock, thereby giving the height, it takes expert growers a full three years to produce these gems. Rose 'Yellow' produces large, yellow flowers and blooms continuously from early summer to autumn. Rose 'Pink' beautifully demonstrates how the perfect rose should look. Its single, perfect buds are held over glossy green leaves from May to October. Rose 'Red' is a classic red rose with deeply coloured, velvet-like petals through summer and into autumn, which look picture-perfect when spotted with early morning dew. Rose 'White' brings simple, elegant beauty to your garden. Its ice-white petals look particularly striking against its dark green foliage and blooms repeatedly from May to October. This unique Half Standard Rose Collection features 4 roses. Approx 70cm tall, root to tip. NB Colours may vary depending on availability
What could be more elegant than this beautiful Gardenia? Trained as a mini standard with a decorative twisted stem, it makes the perfect gift for any occasion, and is sure to be treasured.
No, your eyes are not deceiving you - this amazing hardy Hibiscus standard tree actually does have 3 colours on the same tree, and will stay that way too. Hibiscus are often propagated by grafting, and the clever nurserymen have here grafted 3 individual different colours - blue, pink and white - to the top of the standard stem. Usually they would graft 3 of the same colour, but in an experimental moment, created this delightful result. And vitally, all 3 varieties have been selected carefully so they grow at similar rates, and no one colour will dominate the tree. This is a more reliable method than the sometimes offered 3 colours plaited together. All they need is an annual trim to shape, and they will stay in this lovely mix for years. Hibiscus syriacus is totally hardy in the UK, but thrives best in hot, sunny spots, and responds well to heavy feeding, especially trace elements. Flowering in August and September, prepare to amaze your friends and neighbours with this horticultural wonder!
An amazing new double grafted Magnolia, this standard tree incorporates both 'Back Beauty' and 'Yellow Bird' varieties - both wonderful in their own right, but fantastic brought together onto a single standard stem. 'Black Beauty' boasts sumptuous, deepest purple, almost black tulip shaped flowers with creamy white interiors and a gorgeous fragrance. 'Yellow Bird' bears the most wonderful, scented lemon-yellow flowers, sometimes streaked lime green. Both flower before their leaves appear, so you can really enjoy the amazing blooms A stunning specimen tree in a pot so that you can really apprieciate it, but also happy in the borders. Blooming in late spring and early summer, this extremely hardy tree will make an eye catching focal point wherever you plant it, and as a compact standard, it won't get out of hand. Supplied as a bare root tree, 1.1m - 1.2m (3.5ft) in height, ready to plant.
Winner of a prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit and a fantastic female specimen for year-round interest, Holly 'Argentea Marginata' bears dark green, toothed, evergreen leaves with a striking creamy-white edge. The only surviving member of an ancient species of tree, Ginkgo biloba is often referred to as a living fossil with some preserved specimens dating back 270 million years! Thought to have been extinct, it was rediscovered in China in the late 17th Century and soon distributed around the world in both urban and rural gardens and streets. Also known as the Maidenhair Tree, for gardeners, Ginkgo is possibly one of the most attractive and useful trees that you can plant in your garden with its attractive roughly conical shape and fan-shaped leaves which turn yellow in autumn. The distinctive, deciduous leaves of Ginkgo biloba give a hint at its ancient heritage being very basic in structure. The curious frilled lobes resemble a duck's foot and take on buttery tones in the autumn before fallen suddenly - often within a few days. A tree that enjoys full sunshine and most soil types, Ginkgo is easy to grow and can even be grown in a pot on your patio or balcony. They adapt well to a restricted root system and are extremely resistant to pruning, so our growers have been able to create this beautiful standard plant with its ball of foliage - testament to their resilience. Ginkgo 'Mariken' is more of a recent introduction to the family and is one of the best Ginkgoes for a large container having a very slow rate of growth. Gingkoes are dioecious in that there are both male and female plants. As well as its stunning autumn colour, older female Ginkgo trees may produce large, sunshine-coloured fruits in warm summers. These have a distinctive aroma and, along with the leaves, are often used in traditional Chinese medicine - indeed if you search the internet, you'll see endless reference to supplements and anecdotal health benefits ranging from memory cures to a longer life. While the health claims may remain unproven, something that we do know is that Ginkgo absorbs pollutants, with a number of studies proving that they are great at absorbing Carbon and other nasties from the air, making them a favourite of town planners for fighting urban pollution with the potential to improve local air quality. Supplied as an established standard plant in a 3L pot, ready for planting out or potting on.

If in doubt, err towards spring but remember to keep pots well-watered so that the soil does not dry out.- Shrub roots generally tend to spread out rather than down, so dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting, and mix some well rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole and use this to re-fill one the shrub is in place.- We've found that a square hole is better than a round one as the new roots, once they reach the edges tend to grow in a circle round the circumference of the hole whereas when they reach the corners of a square hole, they find it easier to grow through.- Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly and allow to drain.- Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.- Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker.- Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot.- Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).- Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball and water well.- Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc.- Alternatively plant in a large container filled with good quality, soil-based compost.Aftercare Advice for your Ficus:- If youre planting in spring or summer, water well and regularly for the first few months.- Once planted, keep the area free of competing weeds and grass for the first couple of growing seasons.Pruning Advice for Brown Turkey Fig:- This standard tree should be pruned to keep its shape and size. When pruning, aim for a balanced top that allows light into the centre of the canopy.- Prune twice a year:- Early spring: remove any branches that spoil the shape, or any that are crossing or damaged, along with any suckers appearing from the ground or lower stem. If needed cut back one or two branches that have become too long and bare to a 5cm (2in) stub to stimulate new growth from the base of the branch.- Early summer: pinch out the new growth at five or six leaves. Do not prune later growth.Planting Time:All yearFlowering Time:March - AprilFruiting Time:August - SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire.
