Flowering in May and June, Melittis 'Royal Velvet Distinction' is a woodland perennial with beautiful flowers. They are orchid like, with white petals and pinky purple throats. Melittis, sometimes known as 'Bastard Balm', is a great plant for shady borders in woodland and wildlife friendly gardens. Part of the Mint family, in the wild they grow in the undercanopy of forests, where there is limited sunlight. Height: 70cm (28). Spread: 50cm (20).
Cyclamen 'Latinia Success' produces butterfly blooms that rise above neat clumps of foliage. This vigorous variety boasts a superb colour mix and attractive, silvery patterned foliage. They have excellent vigour, flowering from autumn through to spring, when grown in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Viburnum tinus 'Lisarose' is one of few shrubs that flowers in winter, between December and April, so it is an excellent choice for providing colour when so much of the garden is dormant. It has evergreen foliage and creamy white florets open from deep pink buds, on compact flowerheads, which are then followed by shiny black fruits.
