Seen all over Italy, these spectacular architectural conifers will add height and year-round interest wherever you plant them. With their elegant, pencil thin form, they'll look simply stunning framing a door or gateway, or in a terracotta pot. Trees and hedging plants are a great way to create natural borders and screens in your garden. They can blend in with the garden and provide a little bit of privacy as well. Supplied as a pair of Italian Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens Pyramidalis) trees in 14cm diameter pots.Top Tips- For best shape, remove any fircones that form, and keep supported for 2 years until establishedCare Guide- Plant your cypress trees where they can get full sun and in well-drained soil. If using a container, a sol based potting compost is ideal.- Dig a planting hole larger than the root ball of the cypress tree and add organic matter into the hole. We recommend the use of mycorrhizal fungi when planting.- Place the tree into the hole and backfill, ensuring that the stem is at the same level as when it was in the pot. Press the soil firmly around the base of the tree’s trunk.- Water thoroughly. You need to water the tree regularly for the first two growing seasons. Once established, this tree is drought tolerant. Container plants will need regular watering.- After first planting, mulch with 2-3 inches of organic matter to retain moisture in the soil and prevent competition from weeds.- Annual maintenance is easy, simply check for any damaged or dead growth and prune as necessary.Planting Time:February - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Dragon Tree Dracaena Marginata 2 Stem Indoor Plant 30/15cm Tall in 17cm Pot
  • £16.99

Looking very much like a palm tree in miniature, Dracaena Marginata (also known as the Madagascar dragon tree) is an evergreen shrub with a crown of long, sword-shaped, dark green leaves, finely edged with reddish-brown. A superb, low-maintenance houseplant with few problems. Holder of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, so you can be sure that it is a tried and tested winner, Dracaena is an easy-to-grow indoor plant which thrives with little care. A super choice for those of us new to growing houseplants! Dragon trees need a bright position like a light windowsill out of direct sunlight, and away from artificial heat sources such as radiators. They are slow growing, taking around 10 years to get to 5ft in height, so won't overtake your home. As well as being super-easy to grow, Dracaena is well known for helping keep the air in your home clean as it filters out pollutants keeping it fresh and clean. According to NASA this plant can remove formaldehyde, xylene, and toluene which are found in furniture, fireplace smoke, and common household products. Supplied as a double-stem plant (30/15cm) in a 17cm pot. Please note that the decorative pot is not included.Care GuideFeed the plant with a liquid houseplant fertilizer every two weeks in spring and summer. Repot every two years into a pot one size larger until plants reach the desired height. After that, repot every three years into the same pot to refresh the soil. Control your plant's height by cutting off the top when needed. The stem will look a bit bare for a while, but within a few weeks, new shoots will appear and the leaves will regrow. This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. Braeburn' Apple Tree - Single Multi-Branched Tree

All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details. The crisp and juicy white-fleshed fruits have what is considered by most to be the perfect sweet/tangy flavour balance, literally providing a flavour explosion with every mouthful. Beautiful spring blossom is followed by gorgeous fruit that will be ready to pick fresh from your tree by mid-October each season and will store well until the end of January if kept chilled but frost free. Growing fruit tress enhances the well-being of the environment and that of you and your family. Crops of fresh, heathy fruit right on your doorstep while replenishing the tree population and reducing plastic consumption. Supplied as a 1.2m tall, grower quality, multi-branched tree, grown on a dwarfing root stock.Top Tips- To produce the best apples, Braeburn needs 6-8 hours of full sun each day. They also grow best in rich, fertile, well-draining soil.- Even though self-fertile, Braeburn will fruit better in the presence of another pollinator.Care GuidePlanting your Braeburn Apple:- Select an appropriate spot with enough space to allow your plants to grow. Dig over the planting site and remove any weeds.- Dig a hole twice the width of the pot, forking over the bottom to loosen the soil, then add some good quality fertiliser, compost or well-rotted manure. We've found that a square hole is better than a round one as the new roots, once they reach the edges tend to grow in a circle round the circumference of the hole whereas when they reach the corners of a square hole, they find it easier to grow through.- Remove the tree from its pot and loosen the roots as necessary.- Plant at the same depth as the tree was in its pot. Spread Mycorrhizal granules in contact with the roots when planting.- Holding the tree upright in position with one hand, slowly backfill the hole with soil, so the soil falls back around the roots.- Compact the soil around the plant with your heel to ensure good contact around the roots.- For all trees, use our Tree Planting Kits – including stakes, rubber ties and Mycorrhizal fungi, which is proven to aid tree growth and development.- Push 40cm of each stake into the soil next to each tree. Make a figure of eight around both the trunk and stake with a tie and fasten it off.- Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc.- Water the plants at least weekly – especially in dry weather – for the first 8 weeks.Aftercare advice for Braeburn:- Drought can severely impact the fruit yield of Braeburn so do not allow plants to dry out.- Once established for one season, they will become much more tolerant to a lack of water, as the root system develops.Pruning your Braeburn Apple:- There is no real need to prune trees and shrubs for the first couple of years. Prune established trees in summer using good quality secateurs, removing weak shoots and overlapping branches, to create an evenly spaced bowl shape.- Cut the current season’s branches back by roughly a third.- Unless you are growing in a specific shape, Braeburns only need minimal ongoing pruning to remove damaged, diseased or dead growth.- Prune when the tree is dormant in winter.Planting Time:October - AprilFlowering Time:April - MayFruiting Time:September - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. 'Victoria' really has stood the test of time - undoubtedly because of its sublime flavour and productivity - a fully established tree of this 'self-fertile' variety will produce up to 100lbs of fruit in a bumper season. Growing fruit tress enhances the well-being of the environment and that of you and your family. Top Tips- Add Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi to give your plants a head start and establish more quickly.Care Guide- Apply a slow-release fertiliser such as blood, fish and bone in early spring, and mulch to retain moisture.- For the biggest, juiciest plums, thin the fruits in May by removing some of the smaller, immature fruits. Then in July, while the plums are still hard, remove any that are damaged or diseased or touching others.- Water regularly, and don't let the soil dry out if planted in pots.- Hang wasp traps in trees and harvest crops as soon as they ripen. Avoid leaving windfalls or over-ripe fruit on the ground.- Prune trees in late in July when they're in full growth. For young trees, take back the new upright growth by about a third. For older, mature trees, remove any dead, diseased or dying branches and then prune the older branches hard to promote productivity, aiming for an overall goblet shape.Planting Time:October - AprilFlowering Time:April - MayFruiting Time:July - SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire.
