Treat yourself to a pair of these gorgeous Italian Cypress trees, and add a touch of Mediterranean class to your garden. Seen all over Italy, these spectacular architectural conifers will add height and year-round interest wherever you plant them. With their elegant, pencil thin form, they'll look simply stunning framing a door or gateway, or in a terracotta pot. Not to be confused with vigorous Leylandii, these slender, manageable beauties are slower growing and wont get out of hand - you can even grow them on your patio! Most commonly known as the favourite fir tree to use as a Christmas tree, Abies nordmanniana, or the Nordmann Fir, is and evergreen conifer which can grown in excess of 30m if left. New growth starts out an attractive light green before it matures to match the rest of the rich dark green needles. The young cones start of green and fade through a reddish brown to become the traditional colour.
Tree Peony 'Luoyang Hong' is a gorgeous spring flowering shrub with large showy flowerheads up to up to 25cm (10) in diameter. The petals are magenta pink, with yellow stamens in the centre. Deciduous, but hardy and disease resistant it prefers a sunny or partial shade position and looks great, alongside other varieties of Paeonia suffruticosa, in garden borders. As a native of China, it is a perfect plant for oriental style gardens, but equally at home in a traditional British cottage garden. Height and spread: 150cm (60).
