Complete Patio Potato Growing Kit
  • £23.99

This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details. This Patio Potato Growing Kit means that anyone can now grow delicious, fresh potatoes. You don't even need a garden as a patio, balcony or courtyard will do! Just add compost and water and you'll soon be harvesting your first new potatoes. We have included three popular varieties 'Charlotte', 'Swift and 'Desiree':- 'Charlotte' - One of the most popular salad potatoes in the UK, the instantly recognisable, oval-shaped tubers can grow much larger than other salad varieties and have a firm yellow waxy flesh. Perfect for potato salads or boiled and dripping in butter.- 'Swift' - One of the quickest growing and fastest to mature baby new potatoes, a heavy yielder and tastes magnificent.'- Desiree' - Creamy-yellow flesh with red skin, great for chips, roasting, jacket potatoes or simple boiling. These special seed potatoes have been held in cold store until now and will grow rapidly once planted right up to the end July to give you ‘new’ potatoes through autumn and even up to Christmas. This is the perfect way to grow your own potatoes and what's even better is it requires no back-breaking digging whatsoever. The Heavy Duty 30 Litre Pots can be used again and again and the Organic Potato Fertiliser can be used all around your vegetable garden. Potatoes will be packed in the bottom pot, underneath the other two, in order to protect them.Top Tips- Note: Your seed potatoes will need chitting prior to planting. On receipt, stand them in an egg box in a cool, light room so they can begin chitting (shooting). Leave for 3-4 weeks, and short dark shoots (chits) will emerge. Take care not to damage these when handling or planting. Keep your potatoes well watered as they grow - dry conditions will result in a considerably reduced crop.Care Guide- Start with a little compost in the base of your container, about 6-7in (15-17cm). Place the tubers onto the compost and half fill the pot. Keep some horticultural fleece handy, should cold nights threaten.- The green shoots will eventually poke up through the compost, and when they do, cover them with another layer of compost, water and feed. Keep on adding as the plants grow until you reach the top of the pot or bag.- First and second earlies will grow quicker than maincrop potatoes which are in the pots for longer, so require more regular watering.- In the ground, first earlies will take around 14 weeks to mature, second earlies around 16 weeks, but in warm containers you can knock a couple of weeks off that, particularly if you like to eat them small and tender.- New potatoes are at their best eaten immediately, so pull out only what you want for one meal, leaving the rest to grow on.Planting Time:January - MayFruiting Time:July - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Orange and Lemon Tree Collection - 2x Plants
  • £23.99

This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details.Mature plants will produce delicious fruits and are winter hardy. The sweetly perfumed white flowers contrast beautifully against the deep green citrus-fragranced foliage, and the fruits smell simply divine - plus they're packed full of vitamin C, they're delicious and good for you too. Both of your trees arrive as young plants, 20-30cm tall including their 9cm pots, and are ready to grow on. Bring a little bit of the exotic into your garden while giving your health and wellbeing a boost by growing grapes, kiwis, and other exotic fruits. Supplied as 2 plants, 1 each of Orange 'Calamondin' and Lemon 'Citron', 20-30cm tall in 9cm pots.Top Tips- We recommend using our Soluble Citrus Fertiliser to ensure your trees grow into big, healthy specimens and, most importantly, bear lots of juicy fruit! For best results, bring indoors to cool area for winter. Feed with specialist feed every month in spring and summer growth - they are hungry fellows.Care Guide- The sweetly-fragranced flowers appear all year round, especially in late winter, and fruit ripens up to 12 months later - so plants are often in flower and fruiting at the same time.- Citrus tend not to thrive in centrally heated homes, so from mid-Jun to late September, give plants a treat and transfer them outside to make the most of the available sunshine - but remember they are not frost tolerant so will need bringing under cover if cold nights threaten.- In summer, water freely - ideally with rainwater, while in winter you can reduce the amount - allowing the surface to partially dry out before watering again. Always allow excess water to drain away.- Overwatering in winter is one of the commonest problems, so err on the dry side.- Only minimal pruning is required to reshape or remove dead or damaged shoots.Planting Time:April - SeptemberFlowering Time:March - AprilDecemberFruiting Time:November - DecemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help the plant establish quicker.Care Guide- Roses can be planted at any time of the year, as long as the soil is not frozen, waterlogged or drought-dry.- Plant your rose where it can get plenty of sun for at least half of the day, and where it will be sheltered from the wind.- Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, so add plenty of well-rotted manure into the hole if necessary.- Water well every other day - daily if the weather is hot and dry.- Established roses can be watered around once a week through spring and summer - more if the weather is hot.- For best results, feed roses in in late-March/April and again late July.Planting Time:November - AprilFlowering Time:June - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Magnolia Stellata - Single Established Plant
  • £24.99

This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details.Create incredible spring displays in spring each year with this stunning Magnolia stellata! Large white flowers burst out of the silky, silvery buds that cover the bare branches of this aptly named ‘Star Magnolia’ during March and April. Breathe in deeply – each bloom is deliciously fragrant! Despite Magnolia’s ‘connoisseur’ status, anyone can achieve truly amazing displays with this easy-to-grow and hardy tree. Compact and slow-growing, it will remain a manageable size for even the smallest garden or balcony! Why not buy a pair and place them either side of your gateway? Supplied as an established plant in a 5L pot, ready for immediate planting.Top Tips- When planting, choose your site carefully as magnolias dislike being moved.- Magnolia plants establish quicker when their roots are shaded so apply a mulch of rotted bark chips, manure or garden compost after planting, taking care not to mound it around the stem of the plant.Care Guide- When planting, choose your site carefully as magnolias dislike being moved.- Dig a hole twice the width of the roots, forking over the bottom to loosen the soil, and add some good quality fertiliser such as Blood Fish & Bone.- Aim to plant at the same depth as it was in the pot.- Holding the tree or plant upright in position with one hand, slowly backfill the hole with soil- Use your heel to compact the soil around the plant to ensure good contact around the roots.- If you're planting into pots, place some old rocks, stones or gravel in the bottom of the pot for drainage and ballast and use the best compost you can buy - an equal mix of ericaceous compost with John Innes No. 3 is ideal.- For tall trees and shrubs, we highly recommend using our Tree Planting Kit. You only need to support the bottom half of each trunk, so push 40cm of each stake into the soil next to each tree.- With the soft tie, make a figure of eight around both the trunk and stake, and fasten it off - your tree will now be better protected from strong winds.- Spread the Mycorrhizal fungi on the roots and in the soil when planting and ensure that it is in close contact with the roots.- Water the plants weekly - especially in dry weather - for the first 8 weeks or so - do not allow plants to dry out in the first four months after planting.- When the soil and air warm up from late March onwards, you should see the plant burst into life.Planting Time:February - NovemberFlowering Time:March - AprilAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire.
