Rose Climbing Blossomtime
  • £17.99

There's nothing quite like the sight of a climbing rose in full flower covering the side of a house, and 'Blossomtime' will do that wonderfully! 'Blossomtime' is a deciduous, vigorously growing climbing rose that will grow large enough to cover walls, pergolas and fences but won't take over your garden. Strongly scented, it's perfect for growing near doors and windows so that its sweet perfume can carry into your home. The glorious flowers of 'Blossomtime' are large and fully double, easily reaching 10cm (4in) across. Unusually, the petals are bright pink on the tops, but their underside is a deeper, richer pink - a beautiful effect that makes this rose incredibly attractive, especially against the background of dark green foliage and thorny stems. Flowering prolifically from May until October for an amazing six months of stunning blooms and delicious fragrance, they're ideal for cutting too. Easy to grow and healthy, 'Blossomtime' is mildew resistant and will grow quickly whether planted in a large pot or in the ground. It can be easily trained onto a support or wall, or can be left to ramble. Supplied as an established plant in a 2L pot, ready to plant, growing to a height of 4.5m (15ft) and spread of 2.5m (8ft).

Evergreen Hardy Fern Collection
  • £14.97

Ferns are fascinating and ancient plants, being found in fossils from over 140 million years ago. They don't produce seeds or flowers, and instead reproduce using spores. The leaves, known as fronds, begin life curled up tightly in the centre of the plant, and gradually unfurl upwards before arching outwards. Quite a sight! Our collection of evergreen ferns features three of the most familiar varieties, each with a different foliage shape, from the classic woodland Buckler fern to the almost tropical looking Harts Tongue fern and the narrow fronds of the Deer fern. They will compliment each other beautifully when planted together, and they're also great in pots. They're easy to grow and almost maintenance free too. What's more, all three of these spectacular plants hold an RHS Award of Garden Merit, so you know that these are highly regarded garden plants. Ferns are happiest growing in dappled light in cool, moist and fertile soil, although they will tolerate brighter sunshine. They look spectacular in shaded borders or woodland style gardens with their wonderfully lush, rich green colours. Supplied as 3 established plants in 9 cm pots, ready to plant, including: Deer Fern - Blechnum spicant. A beautiful evergreen fern that forms a rosette of ladder-shaped fronds, reaching a height of 45 cm (1½ ft) and spread of 60 cm (2 ft). Harts Tongue Fern - Asplenium scolopendrium. Long, broad and glossy evergreen, tongue shaped green fronds in neatly arching clumps, reaching a height and spread of 60 cm (2 ft). Buckler Fern - Dryopteris erythrosora. A large, striking semi-evergreen fern with long triangular fronds that are tinted in coppery pink when young before maturing to lush green, growing to a height and spread of 1 m (3 ft).

Polyantha Rose The Fairy White
  • £9.99

Making a welcome return to UK gardens, 'The Fairy' is a variety of Polyantha rose, a small, vigorous rambler with a low-growing habit which is invaluable as groundcover and perfect for filling patio pots with colour. A great successor to the popular flower carpet roses, what these roses lack in fragrance, they certainly make up for in looks and performance, producing wave after wave of perfectly formed rose flowers in large, closely packed bunches. These contrast magnificently against the glossy green leaves, which really highlight the colours, making the blooms 'pop'. As well as their gorgeous looks, 'The Fairy' series of polyantha roses are also extremely hardy with good disease resistance, forming neat, compact bushes which makes them ideal for growing in patio pots and the front of flower borders. Awarded the much sought-after RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that these plants have been assessed and declared perfect garden plants. Flowering continuously from June until the first frosts, these delicate little roses are extremely versatile and very low maintenance, which makes them the perfect addition to your garden where they can be left to get on and do what they do best! Carmona, the Oriental Tea Tree, is such a simple yet artistic bonsai! Skilfully trained into an elegant 'S' shape, this perfect miniature tree is already established and presented in a shallow plastic pot. The lush, unusually shaped waxy green lobed leaves are densely packed in clusters on the branches and dotted with pretty white flowers for many months of the year, followed by tiny round fruits that can be green, red or black. Zelkova Bonsai Ball Shape 12cm
  • £19.99

Also known as the Japanese Grey Bark Elm, Zelkova serrata is a wonderful starting point as you enter the magical world of bonsai. It is a delightful deciduous tree with a naturally upright growing habit, peeling grey bark and serrated glossy dark green leaves. Years of highly skilled training and pruning have resulted in an elegantly shaped miniature tree, grown in a special ceramic bonsai pot and already well established. A native of Japan and China, Zelkova is happy in a cool, bright room away from heat sources, and it will also thrive outdoors from early summer, where it will soon acclimatise to cooler nights and warmer days. As a deciduous tree, it will lose its leaves in the autumn, and it's at this time that you should bring it back indoors for the winter, gradually reacclimatising. Trees that have been kept indoors year-round may retain some of their foliage over winter. Bonsai need regular watering as they can easily dry out. This is especially important if your Zelkova is growing outdoors, when the small amount of compost in the pot can dry out amazingly quickly on a warm, sunny day. Also, regular feeding between March and September is necessary to keep it growing healthily. Pruning will be required to maintain the shape of your tree, so give it a light trim each autumn. Also, during the growing season any long shoots or crossing branches should be trimmed back. Supplied ready planted, 22-25cm tall including a 12cm ceramic bonsai pot with tray.

Bletilla striata Hardy Orchid
  • £19.97

Orchids are one of the most popular plants in the UK and when you see their exotic blooms, it's easy to see why. The ones that we are used to seeing are houseplants and need to be grown inside - however there is a hardy orchid that you can grow in your own garden! Bletilla, or the Hyacinth Orchid, is one of the hardiest and easiest to grow garden orchids in the UK, slowly forming clumps which produce their gorgeously detailed violet-pink flowers in early summer. When grown in light, dappled shade, bletilla is quite unfussy so it can be grown in the ground under trees, in lawns, or even in patio pots (in shade). B. striata forms a clump of attractive, ribbed, sword-shaped leaves, with erect stems bearing many violet, fragrant, orchid-shaped flowers in spring and early summer. Blooms can reach up to 5cm wide, and each has a ruffled lip in a slightly darker shade, making them a stunning addition to your garden. Although hardy to -10, we recommend growing them in a container where they can be moved to a conservatory or unheated greenhouse during winter, and in mild areas a generous layer of dry mulch should be applied in autumn to provide protection for the corms. Alternatively, lift the corms in autumn and store it in a dry, frost-free place. One thing you need to remember is that bletilla should be kept dry during their winter dormancy, as they will not survive cold, wet soil. An easy to grow plant, which if left undisturbed, will naturalise and spread out to form good-sized clumps. Supplied as 3 x established plants in 9cm pots, ready for potting on or planting out when the soil warms, plants can reach 50cm high and 50cm wide. NB - Plants are dormant October to March so there may be no leaves on your plant when delivered.
