The Certosa di Belriguardo stands on the hills surrounding Siena, about 7 km from the city centre. The context is one of typical Tuscan beauty; a landscape where vines and olive trees alternate in an array of colours, creating the atmosphere that has traditionally earmarked this land as being perfectly suited to wine-growing.
Elegant, balanced and fresh, with a long intense finish - Niepoort's LBV will pair beautifully with Stilton, mature cheddar or parmesan, dates and bitter chocolate (try with chocolate covered figs!).
ABK6 is taken from the shorthand that father & daughter team of Francis and Elodie have always used to write their surname, Abécassis, and is pronounced ‘A beh ca sis’.Each quality is blended from a selection of very old eaux-de-vies (much older than is legally required) and showcases the fruit of Domaines Francis Abécassis, composed of Domaine de Dizedon in Grande Champagne, Domaine Champagne Drilhon in Petite Champagne and Domaine de Chez Maillard in Fins Bois.Francis and Elodie firmly believe blending “eaux-de-vie” from their own family estates gives the ABK6 cognacs an inimitable character and depth. This fine cognac is presented in a luxury gift box with two glasses.
A London Dry gin that owes its character to East Anglia, the barley being from Suffolk and the distillation taking place at Adnam’s in Southwold but most importantly, courtesy of botanist James Firth, the selection of botanicals emphasises the region’s coastal herbs and plants such as Spignal, Bog Myrtle and Wood Aven.

For the ABK6 Honey, Elodie chose a ‘single origin’ honey from the Charentes Woods within the Cognac region, and cellar Master Christina Guérin blended a subtle and refined cognac with specific intense honey aromatic flavours. It's elegant and subtle, revealing notes of flowers coming from both the cognac and the honey; jasmine, violet, honeysuckle and rose petals. Then come warm feelings of spices and candied orange followed by vanilla, wood and toffee.

Premium luxury vodkas are like snake oil: You pay more and more for a drink whose characterful marketing spiel seeks to justify a product increasingly refined into neutrality. What is interesting about Golovkine is not the 100% French wheat from Beauce, or it's five initial distillations in the Charentes region giving ever more exquisite refinement and purity but the all important and unique sixth distillation through old alembic copper stills used for Cognac. This final, inspired treatment ensures Golovkine has a depth of flavour and the merest hint of smokiness, as if tasted from warm, full Russian lips recently done sucking on a Gauloises.

A very small, family run operation in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone, in Marano, with a total production of 70,000 bottles.Great care is taken in the vines and the vineyards look a little bit more like gardens. The selection of grapes for the Amarone come from vines planted 30-40 years ago using the region’s old Pergola Veronese system. They use only small oak barrels to age the wines and have no international grape varieties, basing all their wines on Corvina and small percentages of the other two local grapes. Its elegance and strong character make this wine a fantastic gift.
