Mini Orchard Fruit Tree Collection - Multi-Branched Bare Root Trees
  • £32.99

This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details. These top-quality, 'Professional Standard' fruit trees mean you can now grow full-sized crops in your garden or even in pots on your patio and have your first harvest in the first year. The crop will increase year on year, eventually giving you hundreds of pounds of produce per season and costing literally pennies per lb over their long life of over 50 years. They are 'self-fertile' and grown on 'dwarfing' rootstocks so they will pollinate themselves and always be compact. Growing fruit tress enhances the well-being of the environment and that of you and your family. Crops of fresh, heathy fruit right on your doorstep while replenishing the tree population and reducing plastic consumption. Supplied as 1.2m tall, grower quality, multi-branched 'bare root' trees. Grown on semi-dwarfing professional rootstocks. Varieties Included: 'Braeburn' Apple, 'Conference' Pear and 'Victoria' Plum.Top Tips- Soak rootball overnight before planting and keep well watered - especially Spring planting- Get trees established well in first year for earlier and bigger crops in future.Care Guide- Once established, apples and pears need very little care. Water during dry spells especially if newly planted or in containers.- In early spring, sprinkle a general fertiliser around the base of the tree.- Apples & pears should be pruned every year. Timing and method of pruning depends on the type of fruit you are growing, and the style of tree.- Plum trees will additionally need to have fruit thinned to ease congestion and weight on the branches.- Your crop of plums can be greatly increased by regular feeding and watering. Because they can set heavy crops, plums respond well to fertilisers, especially nitrogen.- Established trees can be mulched in mid-spring to help retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and provide nitrogen.- Pruning should be carried out in spring or summer - avoid pruning in the dormant season or in mid to late autumn, as there is risk of infection from silver leaf disease and bacterial canker.Planting Time:October - AprilFlowering Time:April - MayFruiting Time:July - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Victoria' Plum Tree - Single Multi-Branched Bare Root Tree

All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details. The delicious fruits are ready to pick year late in the summer and taste simply mouth-watering when eaten straight from the tree. With the remaining fruit you can make jams and preserves and of course, eat them stewed with custard. 'Victoria' really has stood the test of time - undoubtedly because of its sublime flavour and productivity - a fully established tree of this 'self-fertile' variety will produce up to 100lbs of fruit in a bumper season. Growing fruit tress enhances the well-being of the environment and that of you and your family. Crops of fresh, heathy fruit right on your doorstep while replenishing the tree population and reducing plastic consumption. Supplied as a 1.2m tall, grower quality, multi-branched 'bare root' tree. Grown on a dwarfing root stock. Top Tips- Add Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi to give your plants a head start and establish more quickly.Care Guide- Apply a slow-release fertiliser such as blood, fish and bone in early spring, and mulch to retain moisture.- For the biggest, juiciest plums, thin the fruits in May by removing some of the smaller, immature fruits. Then in July, while the plums are still hard, remove any that are damaged or diseased or touching others.- Water regularly, and don't let the soil dry out if planted in pots.- Hang wasp traps in trees and harvest crops as soon as they ripen. Avoid leaving windfalls or over-ripe fruit on the ground.- Prune trees in late in July when they're in full growth. For young trees, take back the new upright growth by about a third. For older, mature trees, remove any dead, diseased or dying branches and then prune the older branches hard to promote productivity, aiming for an overall goblet shape.Planting Time:October - AprilFlowering Time:April - MayFruiting Time:July - SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Supplied as a bare root, grower quality tree, grafted on a single rootstock with 2 cherry varieties.Top Tips- Birds will quickly strip the ripening cherries from the tree - drape netting over cherry trees to protect the fruit from birds.Care Guide- Best grown in moderately fertile soil in full sun. Also perfect in large pots on a patio - 30cm diameter or larger and keep well watered.- Shrub roots generally tend to spread out rather than down, so dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting, and mix some well rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole and use this to re-fill one the shrub is in place.- We've found that a square hole is better than a round one as the new roots, once they reach the edges tend to grow in a circle round the circumference of the hole whereas when they reach the corners of a square hole, they find it easier to grow through.- Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly and allow to drain.- Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.- Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker.- Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot.- Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).- Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball, water well.- Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc.- Apply a slow-release fertiliser such as blood fish and bone in early spring, and mulch to retain moisture, about a month before flowering.- Established trees don't require radical pruning to keep them fruiting, just take off any diseased, dying and damaged branches, (the three Ds) in spring. Look at the overall shape and aim for an open structure of branches and remove any that cross over so they don't damage each other. Trim longer new shoots back mid-summer for better shaped trees.- Harvest crops as soon as they ripen. Avoid leaving windfalls or over-ripe fruit on the ground.- Don't forget the tree guards as rabbits can strip the bark overnight.Planting Time:September - JuneFlowering Time:April - MayFruiting Time:July - AugustAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Use the best compost you can buy and some sand or grit for drainage.Aftercare advice for Mahonia 'Soft Caress':- Keep plants well-watered while they establish, especially if planted up in a pot.
