Begonia 'Mother's Day' Hanging Basket This elegant hanging basket will make a perfect Mother's Day living gift. It includes a grey willow, woven 26cm hanging basket, peat free coir compost pellets and two Begonia odorata 'Mother's Day' tubers (Size 4-5cm). Simply follow the planting and growing instructions supplied and create a gorgeous summer flowering display for all to enjoy. Begonia odorata 'Mother's Day' is a widely sought-after variety and is renowned for its lightly scented white blooms, that have a soft pink rouge that is more prominent on their outmost petals. The beautiful flowers form on lightly tumbling, green stems, and put on a long-lasting show. Make sure you care for them and deadheaded on a regular basis for absolutely the best results. OUTDOOR GROWING INSTRUCTIONSMaking the compost: Place the compost pellets in a suitable mixing container and add 1.05ltr of lukewarm water. Allow to stand and expand for 30-60 minutes, drain off any excess water and mix compost well. You may have more compost than you require, and more water could be required if the compost mix is looking dry. How to plant: Plant from March onwards. Fill 90% of the basket with the compost and place the tubers hollow part upwards taking care not to damage any shoots. Tubers should be slightly bedded into the compost. If frosts are still possible, place in a light frost-free position keeping the compost moist. Once the risk of frost has passed, place outside. Flowers will last longer if in semi-shade. Keep compost moist and remove faded flowers. Expert's tip: Empty some of the compost into a re-sealable bag. Place the tubers into the bag and seal. Place in a warm place. After approx. 10-14 days remove the tubers, being careful not to damage the shoots and follow the 'How to plant' growing instructions above.
Grown for its gorgeous, springtime displays of pink, bowl-shaped blossoms, 'Triloba' here is grown in standard form creating the perfect compact feature tree for any size garden or patio. The double flowered blossom is a picture in early spring, where the blooms smother bare branches before the foliage appears. What's more, the flowers carry a wonderful floral perfume that will fill the air throughout the spring so make sure you plant somewhere where you can fully enjoy the delightful fragrance. Bright green leaves follow the flowers and fruits for wild birds to feast on arrive late in summer. Concluding in a riot of autumnal-bronze foliage in the autumn, the Prunus Triloba will add colour to your garden throughout the whole year. Perfect for pots, the standard form produces a ball of flowers and foliage atop a long clear stem, adding height to displays but is always very easily maintained with a little prune to shape. Totally winter hardy it can be left outside all year round and will flourish again next year. Supplied as a bare root tree, approx. 1.4m tall, in a standard form.
