Also known as New Zealand Flax, Phormium 'Pink Panther' is a robust, fully hardy evergreen which forms a dense clump of sword-like leaves - a really great plant for adding a bit of a statement to your garden. Just like the legendary Greek hero famed for his strength and endurance, Hydrangea Hercules will excel in your garden with a display of strength and endurance, rewarding you with an exuberant display of power. Blooming for up to 6 months of the year, Hydrangea paniculata 'Polestar' (R) (syn Ophelia) is a delightful hydrangea that will change colour through the year. A perennial brassica from Japan, Wasabi is a native of shady river banks high in the Japanese mountains, and grows best in a damp, shady spot - ideal for the British climate. Forming a lush plant with leaves that can grow up to a meter wide, Wasabi japonica can also be grown in a pot if you're short on space.Wasabi (also known as Japanese Horseradish) is 100% edible so leaves, stems and flowers can all be enjoyed throughout spring and summer to spice up a salad while the rhizomes develop. The wasabi stem, or rhizome, is formed at the base of the plant and grows upwards above ground taking up to two years to reach maturity. Why not grow something unusual this year and give the Cuban Lily a chance to wow in your garden. Also known as the Portuguese Squill, Scilla peruviana is a glamorous Mediterranean bulb which is a firm favourite in the herbaceous borders of grand estates and gardens. This is an absolute show-stopper that will bring a touch of class to your own garden, whether in borders or on your decking or balcony in a favourite container. Looking much like a cross between a hyacinth and an allium, this bulbous perennial grows to 30cm tall, forming a rosette of narrowly lance-shaped dark green leaves which are semi evergreen, especially if winters are mild. The bulbs usually lose their foliage for a few months during the summer and then sprout new leaves in the autumn which last through winter and spring as long as the winter is on the mild side.
