In a mixture of sizes between 20 and 40 mm and in tones of red, brown and grey they are just the thing for dry garden styles, rockeries, and for top dressing pots. The granite is beautifully smooth and every pebble has a different pattern, from speckled to stripes and they take on an amazing depth of colour when they're wet. The pebbles are fish friendly, so they can be safely used in aquariums, ponds and water features without the danger of it altering the pH or anything leaching out that could upset the delicate balance of the water. The pebbles are ideal for the bottom of an aquarium or for creating a beach area in a garden pond. Although they are prewashed and ready to use, we recommend they're washed again before aquatic use. This recycled Welsh slate is completely natural and lime free and changes colour when it gets wet from lilac grey to wonderfully shiny shades of purple and plum, creating a clean, modern look, however you choose to use it around your home and garden. It looks fantastic as a top dressing for pots and planters both indoors and out, especially for architectural specimen plants, and will help to retain moisture and supress weeds too. It's also fish friendly, so it can be used in aquariums, ponds and water features without the danger of it altering the pH or anything leaching out that could upset the delicate balance of the water. These larger-size slate chippings are naturally roughly edged and graded to be about 40 mm long, with varying widths. They make a great colour and texture contrast when used as an edging for slabbed or decked patios and are also suitable for pathways, becoming wonderfully reflective in wet weather.
