'Cantor' is a highly sought-after and simply beautiful Calla lily variety, producing stunning, near black flowers each summer. Newly formed blooms are black to begin with, then unfurl slowly to reveal deep, maroon-purple trumpets. A real showstopper! Grow singly in pots about 10-15cm diameter, or all 3 in a 20cm diameter pot. For best results, they should be kept very warm and well watered once planted for 2 weeks to kick-start them out of dormancy - on a heater or an airing cupboard is fine, then once the green shoots appear, they can be placed outside. A beautifully formed mophead hydrangea, 'Colour Dream' lives up to its name with full, round heads of large ruffled petals in pink and white bicolour that change over time to take on a green-flushed tone. Grown for its dramatic foliage, the marbled leaves of Pittosporum 'Tom Thumb' are carried on striking black stems. One of the hardiest pittosporums, it is perfect in a gravel garden or container to which its compact shape is ideally suited. Lagerstroemia indica, or Crepe Myrtles are spectacular deciduous flowering shrubs often seen on the continent. These sun loving beauties can also be grown in the UK, looking wonderfully exotic when in full flower. Some Crepe Myrtles can grow to 8m (25ft) tall, but 'Eveline' is much more compact and is unlikely to grow far beyond 2m (6½ft), the perfect size for a garden border or a large pot, making an incredibly impressive specimen. A striking, year-round plant, Feijoa sellowiana 'Mammoth' is an evergreen shrub with attractive, grey-green, furry leaves, and exotic red flowers which are followed by juicy, sweetly aromatic, pineapple-flavoured fruits. Also known as Acca or the Pineapple Guava, the pink and red fluffy flowers appear in May and being self-fertile, produce their crop of edible, red-flushed green fruit without the need for a second tree (although productivity is improved with two). the fruits are roughly egg-shaped and about 3 inches long with a waxy green skin and drop once they are ripe. Alternatively, you can pick them before they ripen and finish them indoors to prevent bruising. A beautiful new Buddleia for gardens of all sizes, 'High Five Purple' is a wonderful dwarf variety with all the features of its full-sized relatives, but in a miniature! Bright green foliage gives rise to an abundance of large, upright flower spikes from spring until autumn, each one densely packed with hundreds of individual double purple flowers that carry a sweet, honey-like fragrance. There really is something special and iconic about English Shrub Roses, which is the term for the old-fashioned type of classic rose with a very filled centre, their petals making the most remarkable patterns. New breeding over many years has made them much easier to grow in all gardens - big or small - either in larger pots or in borders and beds. This variety has been bred to have both a good fragrance, and superb disease resistance - not always possible with roses, but our growers have managed it! Best of all it is a repeat flowerer, and will bloom for 4-5 months with little dead-heading, although you may wish to keep them tidy. Campsis capreolata 'Tangerine Beauty' is a vigorous climbing plant that produces an abundance of vivid orange flowers over a long period from June, all the way into autumn. The large, trumpet shaped flowers have golden yellow throats and are a paler orange on the underside. Also known as the trumpet vine, this sturdy climber will happily scramble over any support, up a wall or through a tree, bringing exotic colour and height into the garden.
