With rosettes of deep burgundy, almost black leaves, growing elegantly on palm-like trunks, Aeonium 'Schwarzkopff' is something different for you. It also produces pretty little yellow flowers in spring! This unique plant is stunning as a houseplant, but you can also grow it in a pot in a sunny spot! They are extremely drought tolerant they dont like being in moist soil, so grow them in pots, in soil mixed with 50% grit and sand. They are not hardy though, so make sure you bring them indoors in winter before the cold weather sets in. Slow growing, they will reach around 40-50cm (16-20) tall in about 3-4 years, and will make a spectacular plant for a windowsill or tabletop.

If you would like to grow your own tall, strong stems of cut flowers, for harvest late this summer and in to the autumn months these are the perfect plants to grow. They are ready to pick as soon as the first few flowers Break Bud, which means start to show some colour when they get to this stage, cut the stems quite low down, around 15cm (6') from the ground level, and remove the lower leaves from the cut stems prior to plunging them in to a tall vase of cold water. As an indoor display, they will last at least 2 weeks, but do change the water every few days as this keeps them in the best possible condition. When grown exclusively as a border plant, give them some support with a bamboo cane and position them towards the back of a border where they will brighten your garden just when so many other plants are coming to the end of their season.

'Buddy' is recent introduction to everbearing strawberries and is taking the supermarket world by storm. Now we are delighted to be able to offer it to the home gardener to grow themselves. Everbearing Strawberries are great for spreading strawberry fruit production out. Starting slightly later than the Wimbledon peak, they have a big yield in mid to late July, but then keep going through August - peaking again in September and continuing to crop until first frosts! This makes eating and using the crops easier, not one huge glut! Everbearers have historically not been quite as good on the taste scores as traditional 'June bearers', but 'Buddy' breaks the mould here. It produces big fruit with great taste, and is the sweetest of any everbearer to date (winning many taste-tests), hence its popularity with supermarkets.
