Sweet Cherry Bigarreau Napoleon Tree
  • £19.99

This delightful cherry variety not only tastes sensational, it will look spectacular in your garden, wherever you plant it. Pomegranate Standard Tree
  • £19.99

It would be easy to ignore Pomegranates as a fruit that can be grown in the UK, but you would be wrong. Yes, they do need hot summers and warm spots, but will crop here, and produce spectacular flower as a bonus, so also have good ornamental value. A highly attractive feature tree with the added bonus of producing glossy, versatile fruits in autumn each year! With deep green foliage and bright orange flowers in summer, it will look great in your garden for years to come. The leathery skinned, glossy fruits ripen in the sun each summer and have a wonderful flavour. Pomegranate bushes love hot summers and your bush will thrive in a sunny spot it is perfect for a patio pot. Easy to grow and completely hardy in UK (-7-10C), Pomegranates will easily tolerate our British winters and just need those long hot summers we all look forward to, to maximise fruit yields. The fruits can be used in cooking sweet or savoury and taste great when made into refreshing, fragrant pomegranate juice! They are super-healthy and packed with antioxidants. We suggest growing in a large pot, in well-drained compost, so you can move it into protection in winter, not to protect from frost, but to get it growing as soon as possible in spring. Outdoors they are very late back into leaf, so you lose valuable growing season time. They will produce their dark orange to red flowers in July, and then set and produce small reddish orange fruits, which need to be left on the tree as long as possible in autumn to ripen. Supplied as a standard tree in a 22cm pot, 1.4m tall including pot.

Pawpaw Fruit Tree Asimina Triloba - Single Established Plant
  • £19.99

This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details.A decorative shrub that can be grown outside, the pawpaw is a garden-worthy plant that will give a long season of interest. The show begins in spring, when the deep burgundy-purple, cup-shaped flowers burst from their buds in May. With an unusual form, they consist of 6 petals - 3 outer and 3 inner - giving a delightful show that always gets attention. These are followed in hot summers by oval, edible fruits that colour up from yellow to a rich ochre - think of the colour of a ripe banana. The long lime-green leaves then dominate the show, gradually turning golden-yellow before falling in the autumn. Tasting like a cross between a banana and a mango, pawpaw is said to have a sweet custard-like flavour which makes them a great delicacy - however, you're unlikely to see them commercially grown as plants can be male, female or hermaphroditic. Although they have both male and female reproduction parts, they are not self-pollinating and need pollination from another unrelated pawpaw tree. Hardy to -10C, the Pawpaw benefits from a warm position in the garden such as a sheltered, south-facing wall where it is best grown as an ornamental multi-stemmed shrub. While plants can reach up to 8m in their native US, they're more likely to attain a modest 4m here in the UK.Supplied as an established plant in a 3L pot ready for immediate planting.Top Tips- Pot-grown shrubs can be planted at any time of the year as long as the soil is not waterlogged or frozen. If in doubt, err towards spring but remember to keep pots well-watered so that the soil does not dry out.Care GuidePlanting Advice for your Asimina triloba Pawpaw tree:- Grow Paw Paw in a sunny, sheltered site in well-drained, preferable acid soil. Protect from frost and winds.- Paw paw trees need well-draining soil that is high in organic matter so if your soil is heavy, then you can improve drainage by adding sand or grit.- Dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting and mix some well-rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole and use this to re-fill once the shrub is in place.- We've found that a square hole is better than a round one as the new roots, once they reach the edges tend to grow in a circle round the circumference of the hole whereas when they reach the corners of a square hole, they find it easier to grow through.- Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly and allow to drain.- Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.- Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker.- Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot.- Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).- Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball and water well.- Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc.Aftercare advice for Asimina triloba:- The paw paw tree likes to be kept in continuously moist soil.- Keep plants well-watered while they establish.- Hardy to -10°C, protect from cold winds as it is these that tend to cause the most damage to young plants.Pruning Advice for Pawpaw:- Pawpaws require no special pruning; only occasional maintenance is needed to remove any growth that has been damaged over winter.Planting Time:February - NovemberFlowering Time:May - JuneFruiting Time:SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Apricot Tomcot tree bare root
  • £19.99

The Cot series of Apricot trees have taken the commercial fruit and gardening World by storm in the last 5 or so years, bringing exceptional crop yields and fruit quality. 'Tomcot' is one of the best for the UK climate, suited to our colder climates, where we get less accumulated sunshine, yet we get plenty of Winter chill to set buds. One of the key reasons it works well over here is it is late flowering, so avoids the late frosts that can afflict other Apricots. Yet, it catches up and still yields heavy crops of juicy, deepest orange fruits in the UK - perfect eaten when warmed by the sun straight off the tree, or for cooking and jam making. The tree is grafted onto dwarfing rootstock, a new dwarfing type keeping it short and manageable. To cap it all, 'Tomcot; is even self-fertile, so does not need a partner to produce heavy crops. You will get crops in 2 years of planting; this is a great opportunity to buy a tree of the size normally available only to commercial plantations. 'Tomcot' really will deliver big crops of fresh Apricots here in the UK.
